At Faith Lutheran Church, we have what has become a proud tradition of including talented young musicians in our regular worship services as well as special holiday services.
Several years ago, Faith Lutheran established the Jean Karp Young Musicians Fund – a trust fund dedicated for the exclusive use by the Director of Music to allow this tradition to continue. After starting with talented instrumentalists recommended by the organizers of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, this program has expanded our “young talent pool” to include others from the Naples Community. By their participation and dedicated musicianship, each of the youth has enhanced and invigorated the music program at Faith Lutheran Church.
During the 2016/2017 season, we are pleased to present a series of concerts prepared by some of these young musicians
The first of these concerts will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2016 in the sanctuary at Faith Lutheran Church. There will be a free will offering and reception immediately following in the Narthex so each of you can meet Ms. Allison Kast. She will present a concert including a variety of classical flute music spanning from the Baroque to the Modernist periods – with just a hint of Advent!
Allison is a graduate of Barron Collier High School and is in her third year at the University of Florida studying Computer Engineering with a minor in Music Performance.
In Naples, Allison studied flute under Ms. Wendy Willis and was principal chair in both the high school band in the Naples Youth Orchestra. At the University of Florida, she plays in the University Orchestra and the Wind Symphony, studying under Dr. Kristin Stoner.
