Dear FLC Brothers and Sisters:
We’re at the beginning of a new Church fiscal year at Faith Lutheran, and we have so much to be thankful for. Thank you for allowing me to serve you as Congregation President for one more year, as we adjust the officer terms to separate election of the President and Vice President.
We give thanks to God for the blessings of the Maconachy family for the past 6 years, and for their new opportunities in the call He has led Pastor Sam to accept. We give thanks to Pastor Don for his teaching, for helping us see and understand God’s presence in our lives, and for always being here when needed. Special thanks to Pastor Brad, our Administrative Pastor, who led the Finance Committee to a 2023-2024 budget development that is very near zero deficit.
We have been blessed with growth in membership and attendance, and for that we are thankful. This has led to more opportunities for Christian Education in the various Bible Studies underway. Recently, Faith Lutheran partnered with three other Churches in the area to host an OSL (Order of St. Luke) Healing Community teaching event for healing prayer. It was attended by more than 120 people from 25 different Churches around Florida, and even a few from other states. The event was so well managed, the North American Director of OSL, Rev. Josh Acton, has requested the team here, which was led by our own Susan and Randy Taylor, to coordinate the North American OSL Conference in 2024, right here in Naples! What a blessing!
The Congregation at Faith Lutheran is so blessed to have the Pastoral leadership and the Council leadership we have. All are focused on sharing the good news and practicing good stewardship of His properties and funds. We give God thanks for this.
Thank you all, brothers and sisters, for your continuing worship, and your continuing support.
Ron Mitchell
